Thirst no more

Last Friday, the forecast called for spotty thundershowers but as quick as the black clouds came that afternoon, the rain passed.
It wasn't until Saturday early morning about 7:30AM, that the rain finally came and poured with times of steady rain til about early afternoon.
The rain guage indicated 1 and 4/10 " of rain, after four weeks of dryness.
These are the last of the day lillies

The weeds are happy for a drink too
Though the rain is a welcomed sight, many of our trees have already lost their leaves.
I believe this Fall will not bring us many colors of Fall.
The corn in the fields still need the rain, they are not as tall as they should though the corn fields that planted early have their ears formed.
We rejoice in the rain and the next possible rain is this Tuesday with hot temps in the 90'F all week.
