Surprises

This afternoon, I had a surprise at the Bull Thistles.

There was a BIG butterfly. I was hoping to see one of these, as butterflies are scarce around us.
We used to have the clover that attracted them but the hay fields have been fertilized.
I managed to get within inches of the BIG guy without him being too skitish and a few times he flew away
and came back.
I got lucky and of the two shots, this was my better one.

Later I notice something flying around in the empty corn crib.
It was a small hawk.
I went back hours later and it was still there.
I opened 5 slates and will hope it can escape to its freedom.
